Making this was a little bit of a trial and error experiment but that’s what makes cooking great. Being able to mix in spices many different ways to see what works best for you is one of the many things I enjoy about cooking. The final product is soft and savory and honestly might just be the only way I make salmon from now on. Give it a try.
Ingredients
- 2-3 Salmon fillet
- 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons of honey
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of chipotle pepper
- ¼ teaspoon of adobo seasoning to taste (or salt)
- 4 slices of lemon
Instructions
Melt the unsalted butter and pour it into a bowl. Add the rest of the spices into the bowl as well alongside the oil and mix well. Put the salmon into the bowl and make sure the fillet is covered in the marinade. Let the fillet marinate for 1 hour in the spices.
Open up your air-fryer and layer the bottom and sides with aluminum foil. I used two layers. This is to ensure that the sauce from the marinade stays inside with the salmon when you put it in the air-fryer. Place the lemon slices on the bottom of your air-fryer first, then transfer the salmon from the bowl on top of the lemon slice in the air-fryer. When the fillets are done, go ahead and pour the remaining sauce from the bowl on top of the fillets making sure it covers the fillets.
Air fry for 12 minutes at 370 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Your air fryer may be different from mine so you might need to go 10-15 degrees less than what I have or 10-15 degrees more.
